Magnetic roller is used to separate metallic components from bulk mixtures (wood, stone, coal, non-ferrous metals, waste mixtures, etc.). The self-cleaning magnetic roller is integrated into a belt conveyor, which transports the material to be separated.
Metal particles are held by the magnetic roller and carried beyond the roller axis, where they are released and fall away under gravity.
Using a magnetic roller significantly improves the quality of the processed material. It is also suitable wherever downstream equipment must be protected from damage caused by metal particles.
For a thicker layer of conveyed material, we recommend using the magnetic roller in combination with an overband magnet, which efficiently separates metals from the upper layer of the material being processed.

The magnetic roller is fitted with ferrite magnets. It can be fitted with very powerful NdFeB neodymium magnets. We can customise the dimensions of the magnetic roller to meet customer requirements. It is used in waste recycling, sawmills, quarries, and mines.
This conveyor breaks up material accumulated on the conveyor and spreads it into an even layer across the full width of the belt. The material can then be separated more easily and effectively, especially when using an eddy current separator, magnetic plate, magnetic drum, or magnetic roller. The vibratory conveyor is suitable for dry bulk materials. It is not suitable for fine or sticky materials. The high-sided conveyor trough prevents material from spilling off the conveyor belt.

When separating metals from a thicker layer of material on a conveyor belt, for maximum separation efficiency we recommend combining an overband separator or a magnetic plate (1) with a magnetic roller (2), which separates metals from the lower part of the material layer.
Tip: Combining an overband magnet with a magnetic roller increases separation efficiency when processing a thicker material layer.
The magnetic roller captures ferromagnetic materials, primarily iron, steel, cast iron, screws, nuts, nails, metal fragments, and other magnetic components that may enter the conveyed material.
Separation efficiency depends on the material layer height, conveyor speed, metal particle size, magnet type, and the magnetic induction used.
When selecting a magnetic roller, it is important to know the type of material to be separated, conveyor width, material layer height, conveyor speed, required separation efficiency, and operating conditions.
These parameters can be used to design a suitable roller diameter and length, magnetic system type, and configuration with ferrite or very powerful NdFeB neodymium magnets.
Send us information about the material, conveyor width, and operating conditions. We will recommend a suitable magnetic roller design and prepare a solution for your specific operation.
