MSP FAC plate magnetic separators with an automatic cleaning system
Plate magnetic separators are used both to protect process equipment (ferrite-core version) and for final-product inspection and quality assurance (neodymium-core version).
High magnetic performance, excellent workmanship and the cleaning system meet the needs of the most demanding customers across a range of industries where stringent requirements are placed on process-equipment protection and final-product purity.
✓ Automatic cleaning system
✓ Ferrite or neodymium core
✓ Process equipment protection
✓ Final product quality control
Operating principle of the MSP FAC separator
The magnetic separator is operated by FESTO pneumatic components. The supplied SIEMENS control system is suitable for most industrial operations. The material being separated enters through the central section, where an adjustable spreading deflector directs the material flow evenly onto the magnetic plates. During automatic cleaning, the plates move into the separator's side sections, where they are demagnetized and the captured contaminants automatically fall into the side discharge chutes. Thanks to the unique design of the magnetic cores, the MSP range achieves excellent magnetic properties across the entire cross-section of the material flow.
Benefits of the MSP FAC magnetic separator with an automatic cleaning system
✓ Automation of the cleaning process increases productivity, requires no operator intervention and helps eliminate the risk of cleaning intervals being missed due to human error. Another significant benefit is a high level of occupational safety
✓ Suitable for operations with a high incidence of ferromagnetic contaminants
✓ Adjustable cleaning interval based on the amount of captured contaminants
✓ Can be connected to a central control system (potential-free contacts as standard; optional PROFINET or PROFIBUS)
✓ Deep magnetic field, high pull-off force and magnetic induction
✓ Also suitable for poorly flowing materials and for abrasive bulk materials – lining with abrasion-resistant polyurethane – compliant with food-industry requirements
✓ For applications requiring the highest separation quality or where very fine ferromagnetic contaminants occur in higher concentrations, a plate separator has been developed with 7 magnetic circuits
✓ Complies with standards for food-industry use, e.g. EN 1935/2004
✓ Manufactured from 1.4301 stainless steel, with control components from renowned manufacturers FESTO, Siemens and Rittal
✓ Designed for piping systems DN 150/200/250/300. The connection can be adapted using reducers
✓ Robustness, durability and installation readiness. Commissioning and staff training are optionally included in the scope of supply
✓ Service support on site or via remote management using a GSM module
✓ Certificate of magnetic properties – measurements performed using calibrated instruments by trained personnel
✓ Regular annual inspections and verification measurements performed at your premises by the MAGSY service department
Applications of plate magnetic separators in industrial operations
Separation to ensure product purity
When installed at a point responsible for product safety and final quality, the fully automated MSP FAC separator is fitted with a neodymium magnetic core that achieves outstanding magnetic induction and pull-off force values. For applications requiring the highest separation quality or where a higher concentration of very fine ferromagnetic contaminants is expected, a plate separator with 7 magnetic circuits has been developed.
Available sizes
The MSP FAC product range is supplied as standard in sizes for piping systems with diameters of 150/200/250/300. Other sizes, including smaller diameters, can be accommodated using reducers.

What is the MSP FAC plate magnetic separator suitable for?
The MSP FAC plate magnetic separator is suitable for operations where ferromagnetic contaminants must be removed automatically from bulk materials, process equipment must be protected, or final-product purity must be ensured.
Protection of production equipment
Captures larger ferromagnetic contaminants and protects downstream production equipment.
Final product purity
Product inspection at points where high separation quality and the capture of fine ferromagnetic contaminants are required.
How do you select an MSP FAC plate magnetic separator?
When selecting a separator, it is important to determine whether its primary purpose is to protect production equipment or perform final-product quality control. Other factors to consider include the type of magnetic core, the piping system, material properties, the level of ferromagnetic contamination, integration with the central control system and operating conditions.
